with the Owners who have found this to be the most economic way
of carrying out projects and at the same time maintaining the
intimate involvement and motivation of their own staff in the
design and construction.
TECHSERVE
provided the full Engineering and Process Design and provided
Construction and Commissioning assistance to the Main Contractor
for the US$45-million Dwangwa Sugar Factory when it was constructed
in Malawi in 1977/8. These services included the provision of
process and engineering design services and conceptual layouts
during the tender period as well as financial advice in connection
with the export credits, assisting in negotiations during the
pre-contract stage and liaison services with the client.
TECHSERVE was also responsible for the detailed design and supply
of the complete cane handling, preparation and conveying system,
engineering and supply of the dewatering mills station, the design
and supply of the bagasse handling, storage and reclaim system
and the condensing plant for the Dwangwa project.
TECHSERVE
were responsible for the design and supply of the cane feeder
tables, auxiliary and main cane carriers and the complete lime
storage and milk of lime preparation plant at the Simunye Sugar
Factory in Swaziland.
